Committees

Construction

HFH of the Northern Flint Hills Construction Committee is responsible for assisting the organization and the Executive Director and/or Construction Manager in the planning, designing and scheduling of simple, decent, affordable homes in Riley, Pottawatomie, and Geary County. This includes, but is not limited to: reviewing architectural drawings, researching new building techniques and products with energy efficiency in mind, developing a build schedule, solicit professional help and building materials. Members of the Construction Committee will be expected to be good ambassadors for HFH of the Northern Flint Hills and promote its mission within our local counties.

Development

Development Committee acts to find sustainable funding for Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills through implementing a funding strategy, reviewing the donor support plan, recommending new partners, overseeing fundraising events and identifying new funding sources.

Faith Relations

The Faith Relations Committee is responsible for the development and maintenance of relationships with area faith groups for the purpose of carrying out the mission of HFH of the Northern Flint Hills. The committee is responsible for ensuring a quality experience for HFH of the Northern Flint Hills Faith Partners and creating effective communication between HFH of the Northern Flint Hills and partner congregations.

Family Selection

The committee organizes and carries out application, interview, and selection processes. We find the families who fit the criteria of need for shelter, ability to make no-interest loan payments, and ability to partner with Habitat for Humanity.

Family Support

Works with families through sweat equity, home ownership education, home purchase process, adjustment to new responsibilities and continued partnership with the organization. The committee is responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating this aspect of the program.

ReStore

The ReStore committee is responsible for sharing ReStore’s mission. The goal of the committee is to raise and maintain community awareness of ReStore’s work in ways that properly reflect the mission, beliefs and image of ReStore and Habitat for Humanity of the Northern Flint Hills. Sharing the mission includes educating and informing the public of Habitat principles, policies, and procedures in an accurate a responsible manner. Effective sharing of the mission will further increase daily sales, volunteers, donations and financial contributions.
